Incentives for Going Solar in Pennsylvania
October 31st wasn’t just about Halloween in PA this year, Harrisburg had another agenda, and it was all about solar power!
Governor Corbett and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) urged residents and small businesses across the state to take advantage of the remaining funds in solar rebates available until December 31st through the PA Sunshine Solar Program. The Governor brought the program back last January, and since then, the state has invested $6 million in solar rebates.
What is the PA Sunshine Solar Program?
The Sunshine Solar Program provides homeowners and small businesses in the state of PA with rebates to help fund solar electric and solar hot water projects. As of November 5th, there is $879,731 available for payment in rebates. The remaining funds will be disbursed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Eligible applicants must select and work with a DEP-approved installer. The installer will apply for the rebate on behalf of the homeowner or business once the project is finished.
